PRIVACY POLICY

Sentinel-Radar ("The Service"), developed by Beget Ltd., respects your privacy and Operational Security (OPSEC). We adhere to a strict "Data Minimization" principle.
Do Not Sell Policy: Beget Ltd. does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties under any circumstances.
1. Zero-Permission Architecture (Hardware Isolation)
Unlike other apps, Sentinel-Radar is designed to operate without invading your device's hardware sensors. We do NOT request, access, or store data from:
- GPS (Global Positioning System)
- Camera
- Microphone
- Contacts / Address Book
- Files / Photos
- Health Sensors / Biometrics
2. Data We Collect & How We Use It
2.1 User-Selected Location:
The App allows you to manually enter a city name (e.g., "New York") in the Settings menu. Internally, this city name is resolved to geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), which are then transmitted to third-party APIs (OpenWeatherMap, Open-Meteo) to retrieve localized data.
- Purpose: These coordinates are used solely to fetch relevant local data. They are sent directly to the respective API providers and are subject to their own privacy policies.
- Storage: The city name preference is stored locally on your device. We do NOT permanently store your coordinates on our servers. Each API request is stateless.
2.2 Device, Backend & Purchase Information:
- We use Firebase (Google) as our primary backend infrastructure. Firebase services we utilize include: Firestore (database for configuration and threat data), Firebase Authentication (anonymous sessions only — no email/password required), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications.
- We use Store Kits (Apple/Google) to validate your "Full" subscription status. This allows you to restore purchases across devices without creating a named user account.
- Your FCM device token is stored on our Firebase backend solely for the purpose of delivering push alerts. It is not shared with third parties and is deleted upon app uninstall or notification opt-out.
2.3 Analytics (Anonymized):
- We collect anonymous crash reports to fix bugs. This data cannot be traced back to you personally.
3. Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Sentinel-Radar may send you push notifications for critical threat alerts:
- Alert Types: Notifications are sent for Orange and Red severity events only. Lower-severity events do not trigger push notifications.
- No Marketing: We do not send promotional or marketing push notifications. All notifications are strictly operational threat alerts.
- Opt-Out: You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's system notification settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications → Sentinel-Radar; Android: Settings → Apps → Sentinel-Radar → Notifications). Upon opt-out, your FCM token will be deregistered.
4. Third-Party Data Handling (Controllers & Processors)
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Beget Ltd. acts as the Data Controller. Our backend provider, Firebase (Google), acts as a Data Processor.
Our Service also acts as an aggregator. By using the app, you acknowledge data flows statelessly through the following third-party services (none of which receive personal identifiers from us):
- OpenAI (GPT): Anonymized threat analysis and news synthesis.
- Airlabs / AirNav RadarBox / VesselFinder: Public ADS-B (ground and satellite) and AIS transponder data for aircraft and vessel tracking.
- OpenWeatherMap / Open-Meteo: Weather and air quality data via coordinates.
- TwelveData / FRED (Federal Reserve): Financial market data and economic indicators.
- NASA APIs (DONKI / NeoWs): Solar weather and near-Earth asteroid data.
- USGS (U.S. Geological Survey): Earthquake data.
- NOAA SWPC (Space Weather Prediction Center): Space weather indices and solar wind data.
- GNews.io / NewsAPI.org: Global news aggregation and headlines.
- GDACS (Global Disaster Alert System): Real-time disaster alerts (floods, cyclones, tsunamis).
- CARTO: Map tile rendering.
- SafeCast: Environmental radiation map overlay data.
- Firebase (Google): Backend infrastructure, FCM push delivery, and Crashlytics (anonymous crash reports). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention, Deletion & User Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
- Retention: Since we do not create named user profiles, there is no personal history retained on our servers. Anonymous Firebase session data is rotated automatically.
- Deletion: Your push notification token is retained only while notifications are enabled and is deleted upon opt-out or app uninstall. You can clear your locally stored city preference at any time by clearing app data.
- Your Rights: If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or other eligible regions, you have the right to access, update, delete, or restrict the processing of your information. Because we only use anonymous IDs and FCM tokens, any request for data erasure is fulfilled simply by uninstalling the application, which purges all associated device tokens from our active database.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is rated 17+ and is not intended for use by children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the Service, please contact us immediately.
